Beng endorses Ignacio as ZCPO Director

Mayor Beng Climaco has formally endorsed PSSupt. Neri Ignacio to be the designated City Director of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

The mayor signed the acceptance letter selecting Ignacio from a list of 5 recommendees  submitted by the PSSupt. Edwin de Ocampo, OIC  of the Regional Police Office 9 last Friday, November 3.

“We pray that his (Ignacio’s) presence in the City will continually guide our PNP personnel towards service, safety and protection of our people,” the chief executive told the media during her regular press briefing Monday.

Ignacio has been the acting City Police Director since August 24, vice PSupt. Diomarie Albarico who is on schooling for promotion to the next rank.  He is a Zamboangueno and was the Regional Chief at the Regional Comptrollership Division in PROCOR prior to his designation.

In his letter to the mayor, de Ocampo said the Senior Officer Placement and Promotion Board of the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame has recommended after deliberation 5 third level police commissioned officers to the position of ZCPO City Director.

Aside from Ignacio, the other recommendees were PSSupt. Emmanuel Bravo, PSSupt. Job Russel Balaquit, PSSupt. Noel Sandoval and PSSupt. Rudecido Reales.

The appointment will be made by the PNP Chief. (Sheila Covarrubias)
