Azcuna resettlement community gets P12.6M worth of facilities

The Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) together with Mayor John Dalipe turns over a multi-purpose covered court and a day care center to the Azcuna Resettlement Community in barangay Mercedes Friday morning, April 5.

Costing P12.63M, the multi-purpose covered court with stage and bleachers and the day care center were donated by the FLI to the city government and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) which are jointly overseeing the Azcuna Resettlement project. The projects form part of Filinvest’s corporate social responsibility program, Pusong Filinvest, intended to provide the Azcuna Resettlement residents with a place for sports, recreation, and early childhood education.

Mayor Dalipe expressed profound gratitude to Filinvest for its dedication and support, stressing that its commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive communities align perfectly with his administration’s vision for Zamboanga City.

Dalipe described the facilities as symbols of hope, opportunity, and inclusivity, where families can come together to create lasting memories and strengthen community bonds. “Together with Filinvest, we hope that the Day Care Center and Covered Court will serve as a catalyst for unity and camaraderie within the Azcuna community where laughter echoes, friendship blossoms, and collective memories are made.”
