The prestigious World Dancesport Cebu Open and the Philippine Dancesport Federation Quarter National Championships wrapped up Sunday, September 15 with the Zamboanga City delegation harvesting a total of 41 medals.
The medal tally included 27 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The Zamboangueño athletes showcased their remarkable performance early on in the competition that was participated by more than 100 elite dancesport pairs from more than 30 countries.
Among the medalists during the last day of the competition were Janicar Ashley Castañeda and Kyle Nathan Rey Aliangan who emerged as champion in the Junior 1A Latin while Ledi Norbeh and Kyle Nathan Rey Fabian likewise topped the Junior 1A Standard category. They are all from the Montessori de Zamboanga.
Ellen Atilano Capacio and Cedrick Atilano Tinapunan were the coaches.
The event was held September 13-15 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. (CMO-PIO)
