WMPC turns over P4.7M equipment to City Gov’t

The Western Mindanao Power Corporation (WMPC), a power generation facility operated by the Alson’s Power Group on Monday turned over to the City Government P4.7 million worth of equipment in support of the city’s anti-COVID-19 response.

Mayor John Dalipe and City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite personally received the transportation facilities and personal protective equipment handed over by Engr. Jose Mari Torrejon, WMPC Power Plant Manager together with Ruben Tumpalan, Alsons Power Group VP for Corporate Affairs and Maria Margaret Banaag, WMPC HRA Supervisor after the flag raising ceremony in front of City Hall, Monday, January 9.

The turned over facilities included one unit aluminum van worth P1.8M; one unit D-Max pick-up worth P1.4M; 2,000 sets of PPEs like goggles, sterile gloves, N95 masks and head and shoe covers worth P1.4M and 8 units thermal scanner with automatic alcohol dispenser and heavy duty stand worth P25,000.

Mayor Dalipe expressed gratitude to the WMPC for the grant including all other previous support and assistance to the City Government of Zamboanga aimed to help alleviate the plight of the Zamboanguenos.

The WMPC officials said an additional P1.7M worth of equipment will also be turned over to the city government next week. (Sheila Covarrubias)
