Strengthening capacities of prosecutors, law enforcers on trafficking in persons

The City Government of Zamboanga through the City Social Welfare and Development in coordination with the Zamboanga City Sea-based Anti Trafficking Task Force (ZCSBATTF) spearheaded a two-day basic training of prosecution and investigation of trafficking in persons (TIP).

The activity aimed to strengthen systems and mechanisms among stakeholders that will redound to a more coordinated and effective TIP case management and strengthen partnerships, protections and preventive measures through multi-agency collaboration.

Mayor John Dalipe in his message during the training urged stakeholders to continue best practice especially in the conviction of human traffickers and to put in place mechanisms that would immediately apprehend those involved in this illegal activities and modus operandi.

Zamboanga City remains steadfast in the goal to combat TIP cases being the source, destination, transit and exit points along with the strict implementation of comprehensive anti-trafficking legislation. (CSWDO PR)
