New traffic rerouting scheme set for festival

On orders of Mayor Beng Climaco, the City Administrator’s Office together with the Zamboanga City Traffic Operations Management (ZCTOM) Committee and the police has prescribed anew traffic rerouting scheme and naming of one-way street, two-way street, no entry, walk-in and no exit points for the duration of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in October 2019.

Under Executive Order 501, the following streets have been ordered as temporary no entry or closed to vehicles: Unknown Road between Jardin Maria Clara Lobregat Butterfly Garden and the Entablado de Maria Clara Lobregat Covered Court adjacent to the Pasonanca Barangay Hall from its junction with Pasonanca main road tp its junction with the Pasonanca Public Swimming Pool; Pasonanca Public Swimming Pool- entire stretch.

Temporary traffic rerouting scheme: All vehicles, both private and PUJs using M. Calixto Street and Varela St as exit towards M. Ledesma St., upon reaching junction T. Claudio St, are diverted to go straight to T. Claudio St., turn right to Mercado St, turn right to Gov. Lim Ave. straight to exit R.T. Lim Blvd.

All vehicles coming from the west coast going to the main public market or city proper are to take the R.T. Lim Blvd route; All vehicles coming from the Main Public Market going towards the west coast are to the R.T. Lim Blvd-Baliwasan Chico-San Jose Gusu Route.

All PUJ storage areas located along Buenavista St. and M. Ledesma St are temporarily transferred to their respective barangays during the activity; Traffic will be back to its normal operation after the parade. No parking on either side of M. Ledesma St., Buenavista St. and Zamboanga-Labuan Road from its junction with M. Ledesma St-Alejo Alvarez St. to Normal Road.-(Vic Larato)
