New airport LIAC maps out relocation, resettlement action plan

Members of the newly-created Local Inter-Agency Committee of the New Zamboanga International Airport Development Project (NZIADP) underwent a 2-day Workshop and Write-shop for the Formulation of the Relocation and Resettlement Action Plan (RRAP) for the eligible families affected by the project.

The RRAP is a pre-requisite, as the city government under the leadership of Mayor John Dalipe, with full support from District II Congressman and Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe is pursuing the project in full steam.

The activity, held October 19-20 at a local hotel, was organized by the National Housing Authority (NHA) in collaboration with the Housing and Land Management Division under the Office of the City Mayor.

Resource speakers from NHA-Manila led by Christine Firmalino, Department Manager for the NHA- Resettlement and Development Services (RDSD) facilitated the 2-day workshop discussing in detail the NHA Relocation and Resettlement process – both actual and post RR; the RRAP Write-shop mechanics and role delineation and the presentation of the draft RRAP for the affected Informal Settler- Families (ISFs) of the new ZIA development project.

Other speakers included NHA-RDSD RD Chief Joan Orillo, NHA-RDSD Senior RD Officer Mary Kathleen Sanchez and NHA Region-9 RD Chief Aisah Marohomsalic among others.

City Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Luz Agbayani and EA on Housing Affairs Engr. Al Urao led the discussion of the issues and concerns related to the creation of the RRAP action plan.
