The NCCA kicked off NAM 2024 last February 28 at the National Capital Region, by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 683 issued in 1981 to honor the artistic excellence and to acclaim the uniqueness and diversity of Filipino heritage and culture.

NAM activities are spread out in selected areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, with Zamboanga City chosen as one of the only 2 sites in Mindanao, where parallel workshops on literary, architecture and allied arts, visual arts and cinema are featured. (Sheila Covarrubias)
