Bird Watching at Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology

Miss Sarita Sebastian-Hernandez, the head of the City Tourism Office, took the time to speak with the bright, young, Enviornmental Science students of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology. These bright young minds shared their thesis topic with Miss Sarita who listened attentively.

These students have been studying the roosting habits of Herrons in order to get a better grasp on how to make the population of these beautiful and elegant birds flourish. Truly a selfless and progressive topic to pursue.

The ZSCMST Bird Sanctuary is the second stop for the Bird Watching Tour. The Bird Sanctuary has 53 IDENTIFIED species of birds in their area. When you drop by ZSCMST and see an Enviornmental Science student, it is good to know that you can ask them about any bird you see in the area because they are more than likely to know what that species of bird is, up to its scientific name.
