The City Government of Zamboanga led by Mayor John M. Dalipe, through the City Tourism Office, celebrated the 108th Birth Anniversary of Senator Roseller T. Lim. A beautiful wreath-laying ceremony was held at R.T. Lim Boulevard where a statue of the late senator stands. The descendants of Senator Roseller T. Lim flew from outside the city to attend the commemoration of their predescessor and to share an inspiring message to all Zamboanguenos to strive for the same level of excellence that their forefather embodied.

Sen. Roseller T. Lim was the first ever senator from Zamboanga City. He embodied the virtues of excellence, will-power., and service. He has achieved so many thing during his lifetime. This includes being the author of the Barrio Charter and being appointed as a Court of Appeals Justice.
What immortalized him however, was his Herculean feat that gave him the title of “The Great Filibuster.” Sen. Roseller T. Lim spent more than 18 hours filibustering in the session hall with no rests or breaks and only having water to sustain him during the entire time he was filibustering.
Let us all commemorate this great man and strive to reach the level of excellence that he has attained as fellow Zamboanguenos.
