City turns over 15 motorcycles to ZCPO to boost anti-crime drive

The City Government led by Mayor John Dalipe Monday morning handed over 15 brand new CRF motorcycle units to Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) OIC City Director PCol. Kimberly Molitas, as part of its continuing commitment to enhance the safety and security of Zamboanga City.

The turnover Monday, March 18 during the City Hall flag raising ceremony, was the latest package of assistance provided to the police. In October 2023, the mayor also turned over to ZCPO 10 Kawasaki motorcycle units.

Mayor Dalipe highlighted the importance of mobility, speedy response and increased visibility in creating a safe environment for the residents. He expressed confidence that the delivery of the motorcycles will bolster ZCPO’s efforts in
crime prevention and control, adding that the safety of the people is key factor in obtaining progress and development.

Funding for the purchase of the motorcycles was taken from the 2023 peace and order budget. Each CRF motorcycle cost P195K for a total allocation of P2.91 million for the 15 units.

The blessing rites, officiated by Rev. Fr. Fimore Calibo, preceded the turnover ceremony. (Sheila Covarrubias)
