City holds COVID vaccine info drive for teachers

The city government held a series of COVID vaccination information sessions for members of the education sector in support of the ongoing rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination program.

Ten out of a total 14 planned information sessions have been conducted this month for principals, teachers, and administrative staff and personnel under the Department of Education Division Office by the city’s demand generation team composed of the City Health Office, Public Information and Computer Services division of the City Mayor’s Office, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the Department of Health (DOH).

The information session covered all aspects of the vaccination program with information materials and an open forum to answer direct questions from the participants.

Participating teachers expressed their appreciation and gratefulness for the information session which clarified vaccination issues and concerns.

Aside from the education sector, the demand generation team has also conducted information sessions for barangay health workers, local media, religious sector, youth and the SK, senior citizens, among others. 

Information sectors for other sectors will also be conducted as the national government opens up the vaccination program to the next priority groups.

To date, the vaccination program is currently on the A2 and A3 priority groups, which prioritizes senior citizens and people with co-morbidities. (Jasmine Mohammadsali)
