City delivers water to barangays amidst El Niño

To help alleviate the plight of residents, Mayor John Dalipe has ordered the deployment of CDRRMO water tankers and lorries to barangays to supply water to Zamboangueños amidst the El Niño phenomenon that caused the ZCWD to impose water rationing in the city.

The barangays served include Campo Islam, San Jose Gusu, Calarian, Sinunuc, Maasin, Cawit, Tulungatung, Arena Blanco, Mampang, Talon Talon and Kasanyangan. The deployment of the water tankers in the east and west coast areas is every other day.

Recall that Mayor Dalipe has appealed for the support and cooperation of all residents during this challenging time as Zamboanga City has been placed under a state of calamity due to severe scarcity of water supply brought about by the El Niño phenomenon.

“Now is the time to come together and do what is best for our city. Your government is doing everything possible to assist in this latest crisis,” the mayor said.

He appealed all Zamboangueños to conserve water and help one another. “It is by coming together during this challenging time that we build a stronger and more resilient Zamboanga,” Dalipe added. (Sheila Covarrubias)
