City conducts tagging, mapping at Sangali fire site

Personnel from the Housing and Land Management Division Tuesday, March 5, conduct tagging and mapping operations in Purok 1, sitio Daap, barangay Sangali, the site of the March 4 fire incident.

This developed as Mayor John Dalipe and Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja and other city officials together with City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) personnel spearheaded relief efforts for the affected families Tuesday morning.

The tagging team that was swiftly dispatched, per instruction from Mayor John Dalipe, conducted perimeter survey of the affect area and interviewed the displaced families. The activity aimed to assess the extent of damage of the fire as well as to identify the needs of affected families, specifically on relocation and pending pre-qualification among others.

Per record, a total of 28 houses were razed to the ground as a result of the conflagration that hit the area shortly before 5pm Monday, March 4. A total of 36 families (with 139 individuals), consisting of 28 house owners, 7 sharers, and 1 renter, were displaced.

The land area affected by the fire consisted of 1,445 square meters.

The displaced families are temporarily housed at the Sangali Barangay covered court. (Sheila Covarrubias)
