City conducts info sessions on COVID-19 vaccine

The local government is holding a series of information sessions with key sectors as part of its ongoing preparations for the vaccination rollout in Zamboanga City.

Dubbed the Information Session on COVID-19 Vaccination, the information and dissemination activity seeks to boost efforts to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the national COVID-19 vaccination program by providing accurate information and providing answers to questions, concerns, and issues raised by different sectors in the City.

Separate information sessions were held for information officers under the Barangay Information Officers Network (BION), barangay health workers, members of the local media, the religious sector, and most recently, the SK federation and youth leaders.

Mayor Beng Climaco emphasized the importance of awareness of the proper and correct information about the COVID-19 vaccine in the engagement of different sectors and in multiplying champions of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Held both online and face-to-face, the information series covers all aspects of the vaccination program with speakers coming from the City Health Office and the Department of Health.

Upcoming sessions will be held for civil society organizations, barangay chairpersons, and senior citizens.

The information sessions are spearheaded by the local government through the Office of the City Mayor’s Public Information Division and City Health Office, in collaboration with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the Department of Health.  (Jasmine Mohammadsali)
