Gathering information about the Yellow Beach and Philippine-Japan Friendship Memorial markers

The City Museum’s WMSU interns met with the barangay chairmen of Sinunuc and Pasonanca to gather more information about the Yellow Beach and Philippine-Japan Friendship Memorial markers.

The 41st Division of the US Army landed on Yellow Beach on March 10, 1945, during World War II; this was to aid in liberating the city from Japanese forces, and the Philippine-Japan Friendship Memorial concluded the end of the war between the Filipinos and Japanese. Both sites have since gained historical significance.
