The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) is continuously hunting down 154 drug personalities, who remain at large as of June 25, this year.
ZCPO spokesperson Lt. Col. Paul Adrew Cortes reported during the second quarter meeting of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) chaired by Mayor John Dalipe onxf Monday, June 26, that out of the 16,251 drug personalities on the watch list 154 remain at large and are the subject of a manhunt.
Of the 154 missing drug personalities, 50 are considered high value individuals and 104 street level individuals.
“Our objective is to account for 50% of the remaining drug personalities on the watch list,” Cortes said, adding that 7,034 drug personalities have already been arrested and 8,815 have surrendered.
The other 203 drug personalities cannot be located, 34 killed in police operations, 7 died from illness and 4 killed in other incidents.
On the barangay drug clearing program, Cortes reported that of the barangays in the city only 21 have been declared drug free by the oversight committee.
The rest of the barangays, 15 are slightly affected, 74 moderately affected and 8 seriously affected.
Priority barangays for drug clearing are Limpapa, Tagasilay, Dita, Lubigan, Latuan, Lamisahan, Dulian, Victoria, Manalipa, Landang Gua, Busay, Tigtabon, Zambowood, Tugbungan, Cabatangan, Maasin, Talisayan, La Paz, Baluno, Zone 1 and Zone 2.-[Vic Larato]
