ZC records 3,032 dengue cases since January

Zamboanga City has 27 new dengue cases but no dengue-related deaths from July 10 – 16, the City Health Office reported.

As of July 16, the city’s cumulative dengue cases has reached 3,032. This week’s reported cases did not reach the epidemic and alert thresholds, having posted significantly lower numbers compared to past morbidity weeks.

Children ages 0-9 remain to be the group most affected by dengue with 1,557 cases, followed by the 10-19 age group with 959 cases.

Meanwhile, there are presently no barangays that have a clustering of cases or hotspot areas.

However, five barangays are under close monitoring due to increase in reported cases for the morbidity week.

These barangays are Salaan, Pasonanca, Putik, San Jose Cawa Cawa, and Culianan. (Jasmine Mohammadsali)
