The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) recently recognized the Zamboanga City Library for its outstanding performance in extending library services to its users in 2021.
The city library, headed by chief librarian Madelyn Candido, was named the 2021 top performing public library in the Philippines the city category for its exceptional efforts in fulfilling the library needs of its clients.
NLP’s public libraries division chief Blesisa Velasco in a letter dated July 06 extended her congratulations to the city as one of the awardees for the 2022 Search for the Gawad Parangal sa Natatanging Propesyunal na Tagapangasiwa at Tagapaglingkod ng Pampublikong Aklatan.
The award recognizes public libraries and librarians who are committed to providing outstanding service to their communities. Velasco, chairperson of the 2022 Search Committee, also invited Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja and Candido to receive the city’s plaque of recognition during the Awarding Ceremony on August 19 in Manila.
