The Zamboanga City Karate Team finished strong in the recently concluded 5 th Karate National Championship held in Tagaytay City with 2 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze medals.
The gold medals were courtesy of Micholo Vergara- under 21-75kg kumite and Rahkieshan Jamile Antao- Juniors -84kg kumite.
The silver medalists were Clarisse Kaye Enriquez- under 21 -61kg kumite; Robie Gregorio- 12-13 years old +150cm kumite; Pilardo Balan- Juniors -60kg kumite; Azueh Antao- Seniors -67kg kumite; Abdul Rhasid Antao -67kg. Senior Kumite; Hanica Regino- Cadets -47kg kumite, and Ray Carlo Silva- Seniors +84kg kumite.
On the other hand, the bronze medals were courtesy of Vanessa Rojas- Seniors -50kg kumite; Jilian Años- Cadets -54kg kumite; Kathlyn Rusiana- Juniors -66kg kumite; Reah Ganymede Jamisola- 8-9 years old +130 cm; Leodel Parcon- under 21 -55kg; Leodel Parcon- Seniors -55kg Kumite and James Clark Espinosa- Juniors -61kg kumite.
The 5th Karate National Championship was held from March 1-3,2024 at the Tagaytay Combat Sports Center in Tagaytay City.
