Station commanders and key personnel from the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) attended an orientation on the Community Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) program, in a bid to strengthen security initiatives through community engagement, collaborative problem solving, and partnerships with local stakeholders to promote peace and order.
Held Wednesday, August 13 at ZCPO conference room, the activity was a coordinated effort of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM-9), ZCPO, the City Government of Zamboanga and other partner agencies.
In his message, Mayor Khymer Olaso commended the city’s police officers for their dedication to reducing crime and maintaining public order through effective law enforcement and sound policies.
“Community Service-Oriented Policing is more than just responding to calls; it’s about proactively engaging with the community, understanding their needs, and working together to address the root causes of crime and disorder,” Olaso said.
The mayor also pledged to allocate sufficient funding during his administration for procuring equipment to enhance local police operations.
Meanwhile, ZCPO Director PCOL. Fortaleza, thanked Mayor Olaso for his unwavering support, while highlighting the value of compassion and wisdom in serving the people of Zamboanga. “We should have a compassionate heart and wisdom to give a good service to the people,” he said.
The orientation was facilitated by NAPOLCOM-9 Acting Regional Director Atty. Pablito Abad Jr., who equipped ZCPO officers with practical knowledge and skills aligned with the CSOP framework.
