The City of Zamboanga joins the nation in the observance of the 120thIndependence Day today, June 12.
Mayor Beng Climaco will lead the commemoration at City Hall which will be marked with a program at 8 a.m. Expected to attend are local government officials, employees, and the different sectors, offices, and agencies in the city.
This year’s Independence Day observance will have the theme of “Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan”.
The city’s Independence Day program will kick off with a wreath-laying ceremony, to be followed by an interfaith prayer and the flag ceremony at the City Hall grounds.
Meanwhile, a one-day job fair, dubbed Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job and Business Fair, will be held at the KCC Mall from 9 am to 5 pm in line with the Independence Day celebration.
Spearheaded by the city government together with the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and KCC Mall, the job fair will have some 50 local and overseas agencies looking to fill vacancies.-(Jasmine Mohammadsali)
