Preparations are now underway for the celebration of the 82nd Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, the city’s charter anniversary on February 26.
The City Government has lined up various activities and competitions to fittingly celebrate the occasion that marks Zamboanga City as one of the oldest Philippine Chartered cities in the country.
The celebration includes the commemoration of the life and legacy of the first and only Zamboangueño senator Roseller T. Lim through the Dia de Roseller T. Lim on Feb. 9, the conduct of the Local Achievers’ Awards which honors the top Zamboangueño achievers for the year in various fields of endeavour and the grand parade and many other activities.
Among the competitions slated for the celebration are the Zamboanga Film Fest 2019, Open Cheerdance Competition, Inter-School Drum & Lyre Competition, 1st Zamboanga Graffiti Competition, and the Zamboanga HipHop Dance Competition 2019: One Artist Challenge. Entries are now being accepted and the those interested can take a look at the guidelines and mechanics in any of the city’s official facebook page.
