Representatives from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) seek audience with Mayor John Dalipe in City Hall Thursday, May 14 on the sidelines of their IT-BPM (Information Technology and Business Process Management) Roadshow event.
Zamboanga City hosts the 2-day IT-BPM Roadshow which kicked off March 14 with the Zamboanga Industry Forum and the IT -BPM Career Awareness Fair on March 15. The event gathers industry leaders and experts, local businesses, Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) companies to explore opportunities for partnerships and collaboration.
Mayor Dalipe warmly welcomes this development saying the industry will be a driver for growth and job creation.
IT-BPM stakeholders are optimistic that Zamboanga City can be a hub for the growing IT-BPM industry in this part of the country. IT-BPM is when foreign brands, multinationals, and even startups engage the services of a third-party vendor to manage certain aspects of their work operations.
The joint DICT-IBPAP team was composed of DICT Benchmarking and Promotions Division Chief Yvette Cabrera and IBPAP Chief Policy and Regulatory Affairs Officer Celeste Ilagan together with DICT R9BST Technical Operations Division Chief and OIC Engr. Jacob Mohammad, Admin and Finance Chief Aris Austria, and Zamboanga City Officer Juanito Calingacion, Jr. (Sheila Covarrubias)
