To involve island communities in the city’s plans, projects and activities, Mayor John Dalipe Tuesday, July 23, sends a team to the 4 main barangays of Sacol Island to consult and to hear people’s sentiments and aspirations.
The team led by Executive Assistant V William Mariga and Barangay Affairs Division Chief Rudy Lim, visited the barangays of Pasilmanta, Busay, Landang Laum and Landang Gua one after the other with the overall goal of coming up with programs, projects and activities that will help improve the living conditions and quality of life of the residents in the area.
Based on assessment, Lim said among the immediate needs are the construction of a new concrete high school building for Pasilmanta Annex, a new barangay hall for Busay, repair of the barangay hall of Landang Gua and Landang Laum as well as Pasilmanta, and access to essential government services such as health and social welfare among others.
The team also graced the kick off program of the Brigada Eskwela 2024 at the Pasonanca High School, an annex school of Manicahan National High School.
Mariga in his message cited the importance of the Bayanihan concept in undertaking the Brigada Eskwela, a school maintenance program that engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, efforts and resources in ensuring that everything is set for the school opening.
For his part, Lim cited the numerous social services and other assistance that the City Government and the Congressional Office extend to the residents of the city.
The team was also composed of Dr. Romeo Bagongon of the City Health Office and EA Ramer Namoc and other staff.
