Mayor John Dalipe and Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja Monday led the turnover of 2 speedboats to the City Tourism Office (CTO) for monitoring activities at the Sta. Cruz Island and Once Islas, two of the city’s premiere tourist destinations.
Costing P5.5 million each, the 2 speedboats were purchased in 2021 and are powered with 200 horse power outboard marine engine each. They are both equipped with radar, sonar, GPS, life vests, oxygen tanks, strobe lights, radio, search lights, spine boards and light range.
Dalipe said with the watercrafts, City Tourism personnel can effectively and efficiently monitor activities in the 2 islands.
He vowed to provide other necessary transportation facilities for the smooth operation of the 2 tourist destinations.
For her part, City Tourism Officer Sarita Sebastian thanked the City Government for the support as she promised to maximize the use of the watercrafts. Also present during the turnover after the flag raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds Monday morning were Councilors El King Omaga, Joel Esteban, Jimmy Villaflores, Fred Atilano, Jerome Santos and James Siason.
