Following its successful rollout in Arena Blanco, Mampang, and Talon-talon, the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) goes to Barangay Baliwasan today, June 17, extending government services and community engagement initiatives to more residents.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Zamboanga City led by Director Alvin Rex Lucero and city government will spearhead the activity at the Angara Building inside the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) campus in Baliwasan.

Last June 5 in Talon-talon, hundreds of residents availed of various services provided by local and national government agencies during the activity. Among the services offered were medical consultations and checkups, free medicines, haircuts, rice distribution, social welfare assistance, birth registration, National ID services, property assessment, waste segregation information campaigns, banca registration, distribution of vegetable seedlings, fisheries and agriculture consultations, and other frontline government services.

While the Ugnayan sa Barangay dialogue also gave residents an opportunity to raise issues and development concerns, allowing government officials to gather inputs for the enhancement of the Barangay Development Plan (BDP).

The RCSP’s Serbisyo Caravan and Ugnayan sa Barangay activities are expected to continue in other identified barangays in the coming days as part of the city’s grassroots governance and development initiatives.
