The Police Regional Office (PRO9) formally held its change of command ceremony Friday afternoon, May 29 at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan Multi-Purpose Hall in Mercedes, marking the retirement of PBGen Edwin Quilates and the assumption of PBGen. Dennis Esguerra as Officer-in-Charge of the regional police office.

Reaffirming the city government’s continued support to the security sector, Vice Mayor Beng Climaco joined police officials, personnel, and invited guests in witnessing the leadership transition within PRO9.

Climaco thanked and commended Quilates for his dedication and commitment to maintaining peace, order, and public safety across Region IX during his tenure as regional director. She also expressed support for Esguerra as he takes over the leadership of the regional police force.
