Malaysian cuisine makes its entry into the city as OldTown White Coffee, a global brand known for its white coffee and authentic dishes, officially opens its first Zamboanga branch Friday morning, October 3, along Pasonanca road.
Mayor Khymer Olaso and his Chief of Staff and Secretary, Celso Lobregat, led the grand opening ceremony together with franchise owners and executives. The mayor welcomed the investment, stressing that international brands choosing Zamboanga show the city’s potential as a growing center for business and tourism.
The mayor has expressed confidence that the opening of the new restaurant will help boost economic activity, create jobs and provide residents with more dining options. He encouraged the public to support the establishment as part of strengthening investor trust and sustaining Zamboanga’s momentum.
The ceremony gathered key figures from OldTown White Coffee International and its Philippine operations.
Owners of the Zamboanga franchise, said they are honored to introduce OldTown’s rich Malaysian heritage to local diners. They added that the branch will not only serve coffee but also provide a full menu of Malaysian-inspired meals designed for families, groups and gatherings.
OldTown White Coffee has established a strong presence in the Philippines with branches in Metro Manila, Laguna and Bacolod. The Zamboanga branch is the latest addition to its nationwide network and offers extended operating hours from 9 a.m. to midnight daily, catering to both daytime diners and late-night customers.
