Mayor Khymer Olaso conducts another random inspection downtown Wednesday afternoon, urging vendors, shopping center operators and public market sellers to practice proper waste segregation.
In a walk-through to City Hall, the mayor emphasized that discipline in small daily habits can shape a cleaner, greener Zamboanga.
He highlighted that even simple acts of responsible disposal contribute to long-term environmental protection and the city’s overall cleanliness, particularly in the city proper where commercial and market activities produce much of the daily waste.
Vendors and store owners assured Mayor Olaso of their cooperation, committing to align with his call for discipline and unity in keeping public spaces tidy.
Since he assumed as local chief executive, Olaso had directed the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR) and barangay chairpersons to strictly implement and strengthen waste management initiatives, underscoring his dedication to instilling discipline and fostering collective action for a cleaner and greener city.
