Mayor Khymer Olaso assures full support to the elderly sector, as he outlined his priorities to ensure inclusive and accessible services to senior citizens.

This, as he joined the Citywide Mid-year Program Review and Evaluation Workshop (PREW) organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), in coordination with the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) at a local hotel Wednesday, August 20.

Mayor Olaso, in his message also tasked OSCA personnel to check, identify and assist unregistered members, ensuring that all qualified elderly residents are registered and able to access benefits and privileges.

The PREW served as an annual platform to review, assess, and evaluate the implementation and impact of programs, projects, and services dedicated to the city’s senior citizens.

Highlights of the activity included discussions on the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC): Salient Features of R.A. 11982 -Accomplishment and Implementation Status of R.A. 11982 in Zamboanga City, Health Lecture on Aging, Rights and Privileges of Senior Citizens R.A. 9994, presentation of accomplishment per field offices, and an open forum.
