Local Youth Development Office initiates UPLEAF 2.0 for the young people

The Local Youth Development Office, under the City Social Welfare and Development Office spearheaded the Urban Planting: LYDC Emerges to Alternative Farming (UPLEAF) version 2.0, a program under the Local Youth Development Plan aimed to empower youth to understand interactions in agricultural systems; and uplift urban gardening among the youth of the city.

The one-day event gave the youth participants a hand-on approach intended to encourage them to cultivate their own vegetable garden in their own backyard. Also, they were provided with knowledge and skills on how to engage in the agricultural business.

This activity, held in collaboration with the Local Youth Development Council, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, I Can Make a Difference, Inc. 4H Club and Kids Who Farm held on July 9, 2022 at a local seafood restaurant, this city with 50 young student leaders in attendance.
