Setting a remarkable example for the future leaders of the city, members of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation gathered for the opening salvo of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 held at Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex (JFEMSC) in Baliwasan, Sunday evening, August 10.

Themed “Local Youth Actions for the Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond,” the event runs from August 10 to 17 and intends to promote active youth participation in advancing sustainable community-building efforts. The program is spearheaded by the city government through the Sangguniang Kabataan Zamboanga City Federation (SKZCF).

In his message, Mayor Khymer Olaso expressed gratitude and commendation to all youth leaders, especially SK Federation National President Carol Julianne “CJ” Dalipe, for demonstrating genuine public service to the city’s youth. He encouraged them to practice small acts of kindness in their duties such as caring for the environment and participating in other youth initiatives.

The program’s highlights included the launching of the SKZCF theme song and a groove spotlight featuring performances by Time Zone, Ateno Blue Vigors and Mixtensive. Awards were given to the loudest, most creative and biggest contingents, recognizing the enthusiasm and creativity of participating youth, and several others.
