Laughter, cheers, and a wave of nostalgia filled the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) in Divisoria as the first-ever “Juego de Antes” kicked off on October 4–5, one of the much-awaited highlights of this year’s Hermosa Festival 2025.

Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso led the opening of the event, expressing his delight in reviving traditional Filipino games. “Quiere yo aprende maga bata el juego de antes, poreso ta hace kita bira con este,” he said, emphasizing his intent to help the youth rediscover the joy of outdoor play and reduce screen time. He also thanked the barangay officials who actively supported and joined the two-day activity, assuring that Juego de Antes will now be a regular feature of every Hermosa celebration.

Participants from various barangays — Culianan, Divisoria, Boalan, Guiwan, Victoria, and Tolosa — showcased their energy and teamwork through classic games such as kadang-kadang, tumbahan lata, shatong, sack race, cuhigan puerco (with male, female, and 12-under categories), and palo sebo. The event highlighted the city’s sense of camaraderie and healthy competition across different ages and genders.

Adding to the festive spirit, MCLL Divisoria High School delivered a lively intermission number that delighted the crowd.

Meanwhile, the excitement continued Sunday, October 5, with the carabao race, human race, pedicab race, and habal-habal that took place at the Putik–Lunzuran Road, which came out to be another round of fun and friendly rivalry.
