Davao-based hospital, Tebow Cure, in collaboration with the city government of Zamboanga will conduct free medical screening for children with treatable disabilities at the Mayor Vitaliano D. Agan Coliseum in Tetuan, August 12-13.
Those who pass the evaluation will qualify for free treatment in Davao City. Covered in the outreach mission are children with treatable conditions including cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, bowed legs or knock knees, orthopedic issues and congenital limb differences, among others.
Officials from Tebow Cure Children’s Hospital led by Executive Director Peter Cowles paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Khymer Olaso Monday evening, August 11 in City Hall where they discussed details of the medical mission.
Cowles explained that the City Government’s main responsibility will be transporting qualified patients to Davao, where the hospital will provide the necessary care.
Mayor Olaso expressed gratitude for the team’s outreach efforts, highlighting its importance in providing hope and healing for children who might not have access to specialized care. He assured full logistical support from the city in bringing patients to Davao for treatment.
The 2-day activity at the City Coliseum, organized in partnership with the CSWDO will focus on identifying children with conditions that can be successfully treated to improve their quality of life.
The event will also feature community reflection and feedback sessions, allowing beneficiaries and their families to share their experiences and gain more information about the hospital’s programs.
Organizers expect the mission to benefit numerous children from Zamboanga City, combining expert medical care with a message of compassion and support for the community. (Arvin Midel) (photo credits: Kathy Wee Sit)
