First-ever Job Fair for PWDs set July 21

The City Government through the Public Employment Service Office in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-9) will hold the first-ever Job Fair for persons with disabilities (PWDs) Thursday, July 21 at the 4th Floor Function Room, Cinema Area of the KCC Mall de Zamboanga in Gov. Camins Avenue.

This is in line with the celebration of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (NRDP) from July 17-23, 2022 and forms part of the City Government’s program to empower persons with disabilities through responsive policies, programs and services.

Among the companies that will be participating in the job fair are Filinvest, Shop-O-Rama Group of Companies, Beauty Palace Skin Care Clinic for Koreana Look, Southeast Asian Canning Company, KCC Mall De Zamboanga, Budgetwise and Grand Astoria Hotel among others.

The DOLE – 9 will be offering other livelihood programs as an option depending on the PWD’s skills or experiences.

Meanwhile, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will provide skills demonstration particularly in making dishwashing soap and perfume.

The first-ever Job Fair for PWDs will be in collaboration with TESDA, local hospitals, hotels and restaurants, the business sector and other public and private agencies as they unite to work for a “Vida Alivio Del PWD De Zamboanga.”  (Henry Salac/PDAU)
