The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 9 turns over a cheque worth P29.893 million to Mayor John Dalipe, for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program implementation, aimed at supporting marginalized workers in the city Monday afternoon, July 15 at City Hall’s Conference Room.
Of the total amount, P27.378 million is allotted for wages, calculated at P381.00 per day, while the remaining P2.515 M is designated for the purchase of beneficiary’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Each beneficiary will receive a sweat shirt, gloves, mask, and a hat, costing P350 per set.
Funded by the Office of Majority Leader and District II Congressman Mannix Dalipe, the implementation of the TUPAD Program aims to provide support and opportunities to 7,186 disadvantaged and displaced workers across the city.
This will provide a temporary employment to marginalized workers for 10 days, involving community-based activities that enhance and contribute to the improvement of their respective barangays.
Also in attendance were Asst. Regional Director DOLE-9 Imelda Gatinao, ZC Chief Labor and Employment Officer Maria Elena Alabata, Senior LEO, TUPAD Program Focal-ZCFO DOLE-ROIX Sylvia Delos Santos, DOLE staff, and a representative from the City Treasurer’s Office.
