Mayor John Dalipe joined Department of Health regional officials led by Regional Director Dr. Joshua Brillantes in honoring schools in the region that advocate health and wellness through the Healthy Learning Institution (HLI) program.
Dubbed as the 2024 Regional Healthy Pilipinas Awards, the event, held at the Grand Astoria Hotel from August 30-31, celebrated the achievements of basic education institutions in promoting health and wellness.
Last Mile and Non-Last Mile Schools that excelled in various categories were recognized for their outstanding efforts, including the prestigious 2024 HLI Champion.
Mayor Dalipe, who keynoted the event, lauded the basic education institutions for their efforts to ensure the development of well-rounded students by providing quality education and being in the forefront of health promotion as well.
Dr. Brillantes emphasized the goal of certifying all schools in the region as Healthy Learning Institutions by 2028.
This year’s theme, “Sama-sama sa Bagong Pilipinas Dahil Bawat Buhay Mahalaga”, centers on the vision of the Department of Health in an inclusive healthcare services in all of the areas in the country in order to preserve and protect lives through accessible health care and healthy lifestyle.
