Dalipe vows to support PNP efforts to strengthen police governance

PNP Internal Affairs Service (IAS) Inspector General Atty. Brigido Dulay calls on Mayor John Dalipe in City Hall Wednesday afternoon on the sidelines of his official visit to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

During the brief meeting with the inspector general, Mayor Dalipe highlighted his administration’s commitment to support and assist the police in fulfilling its mission to ensure the safety and security of Zamboanga City, as well as sustaining and strengthening police governance.

According to the ZCPO, the IAS visit was intended to thoroughly review ZCPO’s adherence to PNP policies and standards, reinforce the principles of accountability and transparency, addressing specific challenges besetting the police and ultimately to strengthen the relationship between the IAS and the ZCPO.

The IAS is the lead agency in the campaign against all forms of police misconduct and corruption. Its mandate is to strengthen police governance, uphold integrity, and demand accountability towards an effective community and service-oriented police force.
