Mayor John Dalipe together with House Majority Leader and District 2 Congressman Mannix Dalipe convened Friday, July 12, the News Zamboanga International Airport (NZIA) Committee to gather updates on the status of lot acquisition and documentary requirements for the project to proceed.

It was gathered during the meeting that all 391 lots affected by the ZIA project have already been appraised as to their value preparatory to payments. Of the total, 165 lots are for payment, 122 partially paid and the rest for expropriation proceedings.

Others are also pending for notarization and some materials for scheduled for bidding.

Congressman Dalipe instructed the ZIA team to speed up the process so that he could lobby for more additional funding from agencies concerned in Manila, particularly the Department of Transportation (DoTr).

“Without the documents and if the affected lots are not cleared yet, it would be hard for me to lobby for additional funds,” Cong. Dalipe said during the meeting. (Vic Larato)
