In line with his commitment to social welfare programs, Mayor John Dalipe Monday, May 27, spearheads distribution of cash assistance to 75 calamity-stricken families in Sangali amounting to a total of P345K.
The beneficiaries, identified by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), included 71 fire victims and 4 families displaced by a storm surge.
Mayor Dalipe emphasized the city’s commitment to providing immediate support and relief to affected residents, ensuring they have the necessary resources to start anew.
Among the fire victims, 39 were from sitio Karama, where a fire broke out last January 22, and 32 were from Daap, where another fire incident took place on March 4. The storm surge happened on February 11.
Families with totally damaged houses received P5K each, while those with partially damaged structures got P3K each – with the aim of helping displaced families rebuild and recover from the unfortunate events.
The distribution rites, held at the Sangali covered court, was attended by personnel from the CSWDO, paymaster from the City Treasurer’s Office, and Sangali barangay officials led by Barangay Chairman Mukattil Adjail. (Bernadeth Lazaro)
