Mayor John Dalipe Monday, June 19, personally looks into the status of preparations for the 2023 National Private Schools Athletic Association Games slated in Zamboanga City from July 13-19.

National PRISAA Executive Director Elbert ‘Bong’ Atilano and City Sports Division Chief Dr. Cecil Atilano presented updates on the preparations being done in the billeting and competition/ playing veues, supplies and equipment among others.

The presence of the City Finance Committee composed of the heads of the City Budget Office, City Accounting Office, City Treasurer as well as City Legal Office threshed out kinks related to budgetary requirements.

Preparations for the PRISAA have shifted to high gear with only 29 days before the arrival of the national technical officials on July 9 and other national officials and delegates starting July 11.

More or less 10k athletes, coaches, school officials and other guests from all over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are expected to converge in Zamboanga City for the weeklong 2023 National PRISAA Games.

This is the fifth time that the City is hosting the national event since 2005. (Sheila Covarrubias)
