Mayor John Dalipe calls on all Zamboangueños here and in other parts of the country and the world to come together for the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2022, which will be celebrated face-to-face for the first time in more than 2 years since the pandemic.
“We are getting nearer to the celebration of the most colorful festival in the region, so invite your friends, family and loved ones to celebrate Zamboanga Hermosa Festival,” Dalipe said the other day.
He urged interested individuals and parties to actively participate in the different activities lined up for the festival from October 1 leading to the October 12, the feast day of Nuestra Senora La Virgen del Pilar, the city’s patron saint.
The city government through the City Tourism Office has recently released the calendar of activities, crowd drawing events of which include the Opening Salvo, the Regatta de Zamboanga, the Street Dance, the Danza La Vida, the moto jamboree, the triathlon event, and the traditional religious activities and novena masses.
Last August 15, the city has launched the Night Market in Rizal Street while the Night Market in Baban Street in Baliwasan started Sept. 5. The third night market is set at the Integrated Bus Terminal in Divisoria on Friday, Sept. 16 in time for the birthday of Mayor Dalipe. All these night market events usher in the Hermosa Festival and will run until Oct. 31. Meanwhile, Mayor Dalipe reminded prospective sponsors and donors to address and turn over all donations or pledges for the 2022 Zamboanga Hermosa Festival – be they in cash or in kind – to the City Treasurer’s Office, for the issuance of proper receipts.
