The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Thursday, August 21, leads relief operations for the over 50 families impacted by the landslide in Sibulao Wednesday night.
Apart from the relief assistance from the local government and the DSWD-9, the affected families will also be provided with cash assistance pending the processing of documents.
Mayor Khymer Olaso rushed to the area upon learning about the incident to personally facilitate response and to look into the needs of those affected.
CSWDO Head Maria Socorro Rojas said the landslide incident, triggered by incessant rains spawned by Southwest Monsoon, resulted to the death of Carmelita Andico, 40, and her 9-year old daughter Karen.
Carmelita’s 2 grandchildren were also wounded.
The Andico residence was totally destroyed.
The Office of District 2 Congressman Jerry Perez also augmented relief assistance to the families. (CMO-PIO) (photo credits: CSWDO)
