Mayor Beng Climaco was awarded the Most Oustanding Local Chief Executive for her effective and efficient service delivery of social welfare and development programs and services giving emphasis on local initiatives specifically in addressing the COVID pandemic.
The award was conferred by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSWDOPI) during the awarding ceremonies for Gawad Parangal highlighting the association’s 25th National Social Welfare and Development Forum and General Assembly at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Wednesday, June 15.
The Gawad Parangal validating team cited innovative programs and services of the Climaco administration in uplifting the general well-being of the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of the locality. The team emphasized that these programs are highly commendable “which put your Gawad Parangal award for SWD Champions on top of the rank.”
Mayor Climaco rallied the support of the local government executives for the protection of the rights of children being her administration’s VIPs.
The appropriation for social service programs increased by more than 800% during Climaco’s term that provided more perks to various sectors including senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and other disadvantaged clientele. (Sheila Covarrubias)
