Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Mayor Celso Lobregat called on Zamboanga City Government employees to sustain the momentum of public service by continuing to carry out their duties with urgency, purpose and commitment as the local government advances its programs and initiatives.

During the regular flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds Monday morning, June 15, Lobregat highlighted the important role of city workers in ensuring the continued implementation of programs and services for Zamboangueños, urging them to maintain the dedication and teamwork that support the city government’s priorities.

“I will ask everybody to act with a sense of urgency, and to act with a sense of purpose,” Lobregat said, underscoring the importance of responsive action, efficiency and cooperation among employees in delivering government services.

As Mayor Khymer Olaso nears his first year as local chief executive within the next 15 days, Lobregat encouraged all city departments to continue strengthening the implementation of their respective programs and projects.

Lobregat also recognized the efforts of the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), Office of the City Tourism, Task Force Ordinance, and the CGSO in sustaining the activities of Savores de Zamboanga, which has been extended until July 2026 after its initial five-week run beginning May 22. “Gracias na todo quien ya trabaja lampas na hora, para hace alegre con el centro del ciudad y dale tambien alegria con el maga gente,” Lobregat said, thanking those who rendered additional time and effort to help bring activity and enjoyment to the city center.

He likewise cited the implementation of Ordinance No. 908 Educational Assistance Program for kindergarten to Grade 12 learners in public schools and college students under the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), along with other ongoing efforts in infrastructure, environmental management, and disaster response.

Lobregat likewise lauded the efforts of CDRRMO and CEO for delivering the city’s humanitarian assistance to communities affected by earthquake that struck GenSan early morning of Monday, June 8.

Present during the ceremony were city department heads, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-9) and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Zamboanga City Council (BSP-ZCC), as well as Zamboangueño youth athletes who represented the city and earned medals at the 2026 Bailando Open Championship held in Malaysia.
