City releases P3.812M for cash aid for 1,541 senior citizens in 3 brgys

A total of 1,541 senior citizens from 3 barangays receive P3.812 million worth of financial assistance Wednesday, February 7, in line with Mayor John Dalipe’s initiative of P1K quarterly cash incentive for all residents 60 years old and above.

Mayor Dalipe together with Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja, personally led the distribution one after the other in the 3 barangays – Canelar, Camino Nievo, and Capisan, all under City Social Welfare and Development Office – FO3.

Of the total beneficiaries, 797 were from Canelar, 622 from Camino Nuevo, and 122 from Capisan.

The grant of the P1K quarterly cash incentive is in line with the city’s social amelioration program. The amount distributed was retroactive to the second to fourth quarters of 2023 for a total of P3,000 per beneficiary.

The program is intended to help ease financial burdens of senior citizens, especially in the purchase of medicines, food and other essential needs.

Mayor Dalipe urged eligible senior citizens who have not yet received their P1K financial assistance to coordinate with their respective barangay offices for further instructions to avail the assistance.

Joining the mayor during the series of payouts Wednesday, Feb. 7 were Councilors El King Omaga, Charlie Mariano and Boday Cabato, Executive Assistants Amado Natividad JR. and Edna Sumergido, personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), paymasters from the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), Barangay Officials, and Senior Citizen Officers.
