To effectively navigate diverse, and multi-generational workplace, city government workers undergo the mentoring activity initiated by the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO).
Dubbed “Mentoring across Generations: Multi-Generational Workforce Training,” the activity covered two batches gathering 120 employees handling supervisory positions and rank and file employees from 22 different city departments. It was held August 20 and 22 at a local hotel.
Mayor Khymer Olaso, graced the activity Wednesday, August 20, and highlighted the significance of the training, as he also shared his personal experiences reflecting the value of understanding and embracing generational diversity in enhancing the quality of public service.
The initiative sought to equip city government employees with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively navigate a diverse, multi-generational work force, which includes Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Gen Z.
The core objective was to cultivate mutual respect, understanding, and unity across generations while harnessing their unique perspectives to improve public service delivery.
Personnel Officers Association of the Philippines (POAP) Vice President Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega served as the resource speaker and facilitator of the sessions.
Participants actively shared insights on the different topics including Communication: How to Acknowledge and respect different communication styles, Working styles: How to accommodate diverse working styles and needs, How to manage Multi-Generational Workforce, and Leadership: How to develop multigenerational leadership.
