The City Government will spearhead activities commemorating the 20th Death Anniversary of former Mayor Maria Clara “Mam Caling” Lobregat Tuesday, January 2.

Mayor John Dalipe will lead the activities that will kick off with the commemotative mass at 4pm at the Holy Trinity Church in Pasonanca to be followed by the wreath laying rite and program at the Jardin Maria Clara in Pasonanca.

Organized by the City Tourism Office, the observance of the death anniversary event of the first lady mayor of Zamboanga is pursuant to an Ordinance approved by the City Council.

January 2 marks the day when Mrs. Lobregat passed away due to heart attack in a hospital in Manila in 2004, ending her second term as chief executive of the city. (FILE PHOTO)
