CHO expands booster 2 provision to other eligible groups

The City Health Office announced Wednesday the expansion of the provision of the second booster doses to all individuals 50 years old and above and adults 18 to 49 years old with comorbidities, effective July 27, 2022

The second booster shall be administered at least 4 months after the 3rd dose or 1st booster.

The vaccines to be inoculated include only Pfizer and Moderna, vaccines which were granted with FDA EUA and HTAC recommendations.

This new guideline is pursuant to the Department of Health Memorandum 2022-0206-A on the subject “Amendment to the Department Memorandum No. 2022-0206: “Interim Operational Guidelines on the Administration of 2nd COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to senior citizens and frontline healthcare workers ages 18 years old and above,” issued July 26, 2022.

Second booster doses may be availed of in any vaccination site that accepts walk-in vaccinees and has either moderna or Pfizer vaccines.

Earlier, only the immunocompromised and those belonging to the A1 (health frontliners) and A2 (senior citizens) can avail of the second booster dose. The daily list of vaccination sites is posted on the City Government facebook page  every night. (Sheila Covarrubias)
